Character Qualities Of Benjamin Franklin

by Brooks T. (11)
(Columbia, South Carolina,USA)

Benjamin Franklin was a scientific man with his mind always moving and ticking creatively. When Ben was a young boy, he was swimming and noticed his kite tied to a rod moving. He untied it and held the string as the kite towed him a mile across the water. He enjoyed shocking his friends. He had allowed them to touch an electric battery that he developed. Ben discovered other uses for electricity like the lightning rod. It allowed lightning to hit the rod instead of houses. Many of them were saved.

Ben was a educated. He did not attend school very long because his dad needed him. Franklin never quit learning. He did not lie around. Franklin actually learned new things for himself. He loved to read lots of books. He learned the printing shop when he worked for his brother and learned to write.

Among other things he was diplomatic. He had a way of speaking to people and convincing them to see the situation and solving it. He would travel to England to persuade the English land owners that they had to pay land tax in America also. Franklin loved keeping peace. He would go back and forth between Britain and America trying to keep a war from starting.

Ben was generous. He provided people with valuable information that enabled them to progress in their daily lives. In the "Poor Richard's Almanac," he provided useful information on cooking, planting, weather, stars, and much more. He shared his
experimental findings in his newspaper and the almanac. Franklin did not patent inventions or take credit for his discoveries. He wanted to make people's lives suitable.

Benjamin Franklin was a lovable individual that pulled America together.People came to know him through his writings, discoveries, and his experiments that he shared . He had a way of connecting people .He inspired people through his ideas.
That is why he has held a special place in people's hearts. Other countries beside America created busts, statues, writings on Ben Franklin. He was a loved man.

character traits?
by: Anonymous

Good writing, but those five things on the bottom aren't really character traits. Lovable is, but scientific for example? character traits are qualities, not a thing that you like or hobbies of yours.

Unselfish Ben

I did not realize that Ben Franklin shared many of his ideas with people. He did not seek or patent any of his experiments. He wanted to make people's lives easier with the electric battery, lightning rod, almanac , etc..

Remarkable Franklini

It is amazing to see the progress that one man accomplished considering he did not attend school very long. He was remarkable and an interesting man. I loved how he enjoyed sharing his ideas with others and making their lives better.
